Micro Machines World Series

Micro Machines World Series by Codemasters comes to consoles on Friday 23rd June and we can’t wait.  Not since the care-free days of my pre-teenage years did I last play Micro Machines on my best friend’s Sega Master System II.  Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Terminator 2: Judgement day had just been released and Arsenal FC had won the first division to give you an idea of when that was!

Everybody wanted to be the Fonz…sorry, Spider.

Keeping the “manic social gameplay of the classic series,” as well as modes like Race and Elimination, Micro Machines World Series adds HD visuals, Battle Arenas where you can face off against your friends or the AI, and Team play modes such as Capture the Flag and King of the Hill. The multiplayer supports up to four players on the same screen and 12 players online, and each of the 12 vehicles has its own unique load-out of weapons and abilities plus a host of customisation options.

Its a snooker table!!!

Codemasters’ VP Publishing, Jonathan Bunney commented: “With the support of Hasbro and being able to feature some of their biggest brands, such as HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS, G.I. JOE, OUIJA and NERF, this represents the very best of social gaming.”

Hungry Hungry Hippos!

The Battle Arena mode is new to Micro Machines and will be a chance to execute some micro destruction upon your family, friends and online community.  With the promise of 4 player split screen, myself and the boys will definitely be enjoying some competitive explosive action!

Battle Mode looks manic!

Racing across work tops, ironing boards and snooker tables all the while trying to not fall or be pushed off the track is certain to bring back some nostalgic memories to those in their 30’s for sure.  As for my children, well I am hoping that the fast gameplay, exciting game modes and many vehicle customisations will give them a new racing game that we can play together as a family.

Snowballs are no match for rockets and bullets!

Micro Machines World Series Tour will be on sale at around £19.99 on PS4, XBONE and PC.
